Recepetion to Year 12 Seminars
Professional Development training courses for Reception to Year 12 Teachers of Italian run by Dr Ignazia Nespolo, Education Director, Consulate of Italy in Adelaide. It will be an opportunity to discuss teaching topics and methodologies and prepare materials to be used in class.

Workshop for Teachers of Italian
 To celebrate the Ninth Edition of the Italian Language Week Worldwide 2009, the Italian Didactic Centre, will be hosting “Gli italiani nel mondo dell’arte, della scienza e della tecnologia”, a workshop for teachers of Italian.
This special workshop is presented by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs lecturers Dott.ssa Daniela Rosteghin (Flinders University) and Dott. Michele Costanzo (University of SA - Magill Campus).
The workshop will provide you with the opportunity to gain useful information (vocabulary, idioms, phrases, etc.) on how to use this topic in the classroom and help develop new teaching ideas.

Seminar for Teachers of Italian 4th, 5th, 6th December 2008
The Italian Didactic Centre will be hosting a Seminar for teachers of Italian run by guest speaker Prof. Angelo Chiuchiù, lecturer and founder of the Accademia Lingua Italiana Assisi.
The seminar will provide teachers of Italian with the opportunity to gain useful teaching practices to start planning for 2009.
This is a Professional Development opportunity for all teachers of Italian not to be missed.

International Year of Languages
As part of the celebrations for the 2008 UNSECO International Year of Languages the Italian Didactic Centre of SA Inc in collaboration with all educational sectors, the Department of Education & Children's Services (DECS), the South Australian Association of Teachers of Italian (SAATI), the Catholic Education South Australia (CESA) and the Association of Independent Schools of South Australia have worked together to organise an Italian Immersion Day Conference for teachers of Italian.
Teachers of the Italian language are invited to attend the Italian Immersion Day Conference on Friday 13th June 2008 at the Italian Centre (262 Carrington Street Adelaide) from 8:30am to 4:00pm.
The Italian Immerson Day Conference will be followed by the Official International Year of Languages Reception on Friday 13th June 2008 at the Italian Centre (262 Carrington Street Adelaide SA 5001) from 4:30pm to 6:30pm.
Also to celebrate the International Year of Languages all educational sectors and professional associations have worked together to organise two Accross-languages events for teachers of languages and educators who wish to develop their understanding of languages education.
All language teachers are invited to attend the International Year of Languages Conference with the theme Languages Matter which will take place on Saturday 14th June 2008 at the Education Development Centre (Milner Street Hindmarsh) from 9:30am to 3:30pm.

 L’Italiano tra arte, scienza e tecnologia
As part of the wide range of events organised in view of the Ninth Edition of Italian Language Week Worldwide, the Italian Didactic Centre will be hosting a Seminar for teachers of Italian presented by Dr Stefano Fossati, Director of the Italian Institute of Culture, Melbourne.
The seminar will provide the opportunity to gain current resources for the teaching and learning of contemporary Italian. Teachers might also find it valuable to use it in conjunction with the Italian Didactic Centre’s own Competition “Gli Italiani nel mondo dell’arte, della scienza e della tecnologia”.
All participants will receive a Certificate of Attendance.

Workshop
Great Professional Development opportunity coming up for teachers of Italian!!
The Italian Didactic Centre, in collaboration with the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs' lecturer Mr Michele Costanzo (UNISA-Magill), invites you to attend a workshop to be held on Friday 20th June 2008 at the Italian Didactic Centre (10 Newton Road, Campbelltown) from 6:00pm to 7:30pm.
The workshop will be based on a short story by Italo Calvino "Il bosco sull'autostrada", developed into a mini play. (Please see attachment for program and Calvino's short story.) At the end of the workshop, parts of the film "They're a weird mob" will be shown and discussed.
Bookings are essential. Please RSVP your attendance by close of business 5:00pm Wednesday 18th June 2008.
