Our school/venues are smoke free sites. All employees, students, parents and visitors are expected to cooperate and cannot smoke anywhere on school/venue properties.
food & drink regulations
Students may bring bottled beverages and light snacks for break time.

This includes products such as Peanut Butter, Nutella, all nuts and cooking oil and other food that may contain nuts. Students are encouraged to wash hands before and after eating and not to share food.
HEALTH AND SAFETY OF CHILDREN
Parents/guardians are required to inform the school in writing of any changes in the student’s medical condition or of any medications or treatment the student is receiving and any student restriction details. All student contact, medical and restriction details must be kept up to date.
For the health, safety and consideration of all students at school, any student who is not well and is unable to fully participate in regular school activities must remain at home. Parents/guardians will be contacted to collect a student who becomes ill during class. The Ethnic School Teachers are not permitted to administer or give medication to any student. All Ethnic School Teachers are trained with Basic Emergency Life Support in accordance with the Department of Education and Children’s Services by the Australian Red Cross.
Safe arrival/Safe Dismissal of children
For safety reasons, it is highly recommended that when you drop off your children you wait and ensure that they are safely inside the school/classroom before you leave. Also, you should come at least 5 minutes prior to the dismissal time to ensure that all children are picked up on time as it is the responsibility of parents/guardians to drop off and pick up their children on time.
Late Arrival and Early Dismissal of children
Ethnic School Teachers have a duty of care for your child whilst they are at school, so all early dismissals and late arrivals of students must be addressed to the Ethnic School Teacher by the parent/guardians.
Parents/guardians permission is required for students leaving school early or being collected by someone other than parents/guardians.
Notes are also required from parents/guardians for non-attendance, long holidays and any other situation that differs from normal presence at school.
RELEASE OF AND ACCESS TO CHILDREN
The statements below apply to the release of students and access to students in all situations including: custody cases, regular dismissal, early dismissal and emergency situations.
Copies of the most recent legal communication that pertains to the school setting regarding custody, release of students and access to students must be presented to the school at registration, prior to the beginning of each school year and at the time that an access situation arises.
Any individual, to whom students may be dismissed, must be identified on the enrolment form. In order for a student to be released to anyone who is not on the emergency contact list, a note concerning the specific release must be presented to the Ethnic School Teacher prior to or at the time of the release.
In the event that a note is not provided, and the parent or guardian calls to request that a child be released to someone who is not on the enrolment form, verification of the caller's identity must be made by the Ethnic School Teacher before releasing the child. A child will be only released to a parent/guardian in the absence of any documentation restricting the child's release.
